Weathercraft 2021 Chardonnay

Raquel and Hugh Jones own and run this boutique winery near Beechworth.

Raquel is a winemaker of rare talent. Her Spanish background informs her wines with a particular "Olé!" style all their own.

This Chardonnay is in all respects typical Beechworth: lean, complex and memorable and yet with Spanish passion.

Stone fruit aroma with spice. Minerality in the mouth with exacting acidity in the finish.

It's a Chardonnay that demands food.

We had it with an old fashioned French chicken in mustard sauce dish and a side of Hasselback potatoes.

Game, set, match!

A freshly grilled mackerel with lemon would suit it well. It's a wine that handles oily fish with aplomb.

Or you could just enjoy it while munching on a nice piece of Parmigiano Reggiano.

This is a total treat kind of wine.
