Chateau Tahbilk 2019 Grenache, Shiraz, Mourvedre

Wham bam and thank you Tahbilk.

From a winery that's been around for yonks, where they know what they're doing in a vineyard, this dazzling dark beauty of a wine will impress like a spring racing carnival winner.

It has length, berry ripe bouquet and an abundance of complex fruit character.

Originally the blend is classic French Rhône valley but it's a style Australia has adapted for its own.

Let it breathe a bit. Use a large bowled glass. Cool, not chilled and definitely not warm.

This is an ideal barbecue wine.

Any red meat will do. Sausages too. It will cope with a spicy chorizo. Stuffed mushrooms? Yes.

A white bean stew with smoky paprika, tomato purée, ham hock and capsicum will match well.

Go off-piste and try it with grilled salmon fillet and caponata.

Drink this asap.

You'll thank us right after.
