Dilworth and Allain 2022 Glut Farm Grenache

We drank this chilled.

It was delicious.

Grenache often finds itself in southern French rosé blends.

This dead lovely number from Mt Cole in western Victoria matches the very best French iterations.

Its fruity vivacity lends itself to easy quaffing.

This little wine however reaches another level.

Looking more Beaujolais than rosé... bright dark cherry shiny-ness, it's opaque, sort of an un-rosé red that is best served chilled.

An extended finish shows talented winemaking. It's grippy with pronounced tannins but is effortlessly balanced with complex fruit character.

If this represents the future of Aussie grenache, we're all in for a joyous ride.

Paired with a braised lamb shoulder and piquant salsa verde it not only held up to what is a powerful dish, it shone.

Barbecued chicken or brisket American style would match well too.

Or go strong veg and drink it with a dense ratatouille and fried polenta sticks.
